Arriving in Copenhagen
February 2, 2010 by anniehalli
So I have been here a few days now and starting to get used to it all a bit!
My flight here was fine, and my lovely mentor maria met me at the airport and help me drag my very heavy bag from the train station and up 4 flights of stairs to my apartment! The place I’m staying is nice and very central, I’ve got a lovely big warm room and it is beginning to feel like home already! It’s strange how quickly you can settle in a new place! The woman I am living with seems nice although I haven’t spent much time with her, only time will tell how it works out but I am feeling good about it all.
So yesterday was my first proper day and I was soooo busy, I had lectures 10-12 then 12-2 and they were pretty standard, although we are expected to buy books which I just can’t afford so I will so how I get on without them! I then went and bought some lunch and hung around untill 4 which was my orientation meeting. I have met so many people already, most of whom I can’t remember their names! I got home about 7 after buying something to make for dinner and was out again at 8 to meet my mentor, Maria to go to her friends how to drink some beer before we went to a club. Her friends were lovely and there was another mentee there from Finland, we then went out to RUST for the first night of the Insomnia tour organised for international students! Finding my way home at 2 was a bit daunting but I eventually found myself back here! Each journey or activity I complete is like a little victory for me, I feel so pleased that I have managed to find my way!
The weather is not so bad, quite cold but not as bad as I expected. A snowstorm is due for this afternoon, and out my window now I can see it has just started snowing. The trip to my lecture this afternoon will be exciting!
Anyway I must go and get lunch! Bye!
